7 Day Juicing Challenge

This past Monday, I began a 7 day juice detox/fast. So all my posts will consist of my experiences while juicing as well as the ingredients I used in each juice. Is there anyone out there in cyberland willing to join me? We can hold each other accountable. Feel free to post how you are doing as well as your recipes used. Each day we will drink nothing but what we've juiced as well as drink water...preferably filtered water. To get started, I purchased a week's supply of fruits and veggies. I ordered a case of kale greens, which is about 9 lbs., four 3 lb. bags of carrots, five 3 lb. bags of apples, a bag of oranges, 2 stalks of celery, 4 cucumbers and 2 pineapples. My shipment from Door to Door Organics - Michigan came in on Tuesday so I can use those fruits and veggies as well. I will be drinking a lot of cucumber water this week which is a favorite of mine. :)

Here are a few of the recipes that I've used thus far:

Monday morning for breakfast, I juices 2 granny smith apples, 4 large carrots and a stalk of celery.

It was really good and gave me lots of energy.

A family friend, Jay, sent me a funny video that has helped to keep me laughing as well as motivated as I began this journey. It was hilarious!

Later on Monday, I enjoyed a mid-morning snack of kale, lime, apples, celery and ginger. I also had this for lunch. It was both nutritious and delicious!

For dinner that evening, I enjoyed 10 kale leaves, 3 granny smith apples, 3 celery stalks, 1 cucumber, and a dash of ginger. Delicious! So far things are going well. Feeling satisfied, but not full.

I couldn't end the day without dessert, so I juiced yet again.

This pineapple, apple, carrot juice was amazing. My daughter had some and wanted more. Day 1 of juicing complete! I withstood the temptation to sample the navy beans and corn bread I made my family for dinner. It smelled so good, but I am committed to seeing this through until the end. Funny thing is, I feel satisfied. Got a little hungry before dinner, because I was visiting with a friend and didn't bring along any juice. Lesson learned. Always leave the house packing! Tomorrow is another day to make another choice for better health. Won't you join me?
