100 Days: Day Seven ~ Mind Over Matter

Day 1...DONE!
Day 2...DONE!
Day 3...DONE!
Day 4...DONE!
Day 5...DONE!
Day 6...DONE!
Day 7...DONE!

Seven days of working out, juicing and/or drinking green smoothies. Seven days closer to my goal!  I found this quote by Muhammad Ali that sums up how I feel right now.

I'm a champion...a winner! Yeah, it would have been easy to quit, but then I wouldn't have been true to myself. I wasn't created to lose or to give up. Everyday I remind my children that they have greatness in them. This week, I had to say that out loud to myself a few times.

Half the battle toward being your best self  is fought in the mind. A few times during these seven days, the negative committee in my mind convened and proceeded to discuss all the reasons why it would be okay if I didn't work out that day or make healthy choices. And during those times I've had to talk to myself out loud and rehearse again what my goals were. That's when I called the meeting to a close.

Vince McConnell  said, "We must train from the inside out. Using our strengths to attack and nullify any weaknesses. It's not about denying a weakness may exist but about denying its right to persist."

In order to achieve my goals I cannot allow negativity to persist. I must eradicate it at its root. Then and only then will I be able to take the next step to achieving optimal health.

Today's green smoothie consisted of spinach, banana, apple, an orange and pomegranate juice. It was delicious!

For my workout, I had a date with my treadmill.

Tomorrow begins the second week of my 100 day journey! I can't wait to see what it will bring.
