Kids and Green Smoothies

People ask me all the time how I get my kids to eat raw, green vegetables or to drink a green smoothie. Well, it's not as difficult as one might think. If they see that you enjoy them and speak highly of them, their curiosity will eventually be peaked. I allow my kids to get involved in the process of picking out fresh fruits and veggies, as well as chopping them up and putting them into the blender. My older kids love creating and blending their own smoothies as well. They have realized the benefits of drinking green smoothies and can tell when they are not giving their bodies what it needs because of how it responds.




Here are a few recipes that my children enjoy.

Nutritious and Delicious Green Smoothie
1 1/2 bananas
1 apple, cut into chunks
1 cup spinach
1 cup kale greens
1 orange, peeled
2 cups filtered water
ice

Place all ingredients into your high speed blender and blend to desired consistency.
